Enjoy parks in Bustleton

The Bustleton neighborhood is located on Philadelphia's far northeast side right along Lincoln Highway. Most residents own a car and some drive to work in the downtown district, which is about a half hour trip. Bustleton is a primarily residential neighborhood with apartments, condos and single-family homes.

The west side of the neighborhood is bordered by the Pennyback Environmental Center. The center was dedicated as a bird sanctuary in 1958 and has since added an outdoor amphitheater, exhibits, a new reference library, and campfire and picnic areas. Residents stop by to enjoy nature, attend festivals and participate in craft shows. Pennyback Creek, which runs through the parks that make up the Environmental Center, is stocked with trout and is a favorite spot for local anglers.

Fox Chase Farm is a little north of Pennyback Environmental Center. This educational farm is open to the public for events such as Maple Sugar Day and Sheep Sheering Day. Residents can come learn about how both these processes are performed and how they benefit the community.

The Red Lion Shopping Plaza, Belair Shopping Center and Sleepy's Grant Plaza all offer shopping opportunities for Bustleton residents. The neighborhood also features movie theaters, bars and restaurants for entertainment. Union Transfer is a popular bar and lounge where locals go for live music.
