East Oak Hill is on the southwest side of Austin, near the city center.

East Oak Hill is a neighborhood on the southwest side of Austin, Texas. Major roads in the area include the MoPac Expressway, Highway 290 and Southwest Parkway. Driving to the city center takes about 15 minutes. Most neighborhood residents own a vehicle, though there is a limited bus system in East Oak Hill.

This affluent neighborhood is filled with tree-lined streets and plenty to do. The warm Austin weather makes outdoor activity an ideal way to spend an afternoon. Barton Creek Wilderness Park is partially located in the north section of East Oak Hill. This massive preserved green space is a great spot to hike, bike or go on an adventure with your dog. Barton Creek and Sycamore Creek run through the park.

Though the neighborhood is mostly residential, East Oak Hill is home to some shops and restaurants. You'll find chains, such as Target, Best Buy and Home Depot in the area as well as a couple unique restaurants. For example, Cypress Grill offers Cajun-style cuisine.

East Oak Hill also features some top-performing schools. Oak Hill and Patton Elementary schools, Small Middle School and Austin High School are all within the boundaries of the neighborhood. 

East Oak Hill is known for its quiet atmosphere, variety of parks and beautiful buildings.
