Yorkshire is a residential neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina, that lies directly on the state's border with South Carolina. Yorkshire has an western boundary at Steel Creek Road, an eastern border at Carowind Road and a northern boundary at Tryon Road. The neighborhood is approximately 13 miles southwest of downtown Charlotte. From Yorkshire, Charlotte averages as 25-minute commute by car. Public transportation by bus is also available.
Yorkshire has many neighborhood amenities including a Super Target, Home Depot and Best Buy. The CK Rivergate Shopping Center features a wide array of stores and eateries, including men's and women's apparel outlets, numerous health and wellness facilities, barbers, a sporting goods store and a bookshop. There are many local attractions in the area surrounding Yorkshire. The McDowell Nature Center and Preserve boasts over 1,000 acres of untarnished forests and waterways. The preserve is complete with numerous campsites, a boat launch, hiking trails, a picnic area, fishing holes and a boat launch.
