East Arlington is a neighborhood on the east side of Jacksonville, Fla. Major roads nearby include East Beltway 295, Atlantic Boulevard and Monument Road. Neighborhood residents rely on their vehicles to get around the city, as East Arlington does not have public transportation. It takes about 20 minutes to drive to Jacksonville's downtown area from the neighborhood.
Jacksonville Executive Airport is located on the west side of East Arlington. Local pilots can fly their small planes out of the airport and store them in the hangar when they aren't flying. JAXEX is also home to an aviation school where aspiring pilots can train.
The west side of the neighborhood is filled with runways, while the east side is mostly residential with a handful of shops and restaurants. For example, there is a drug store in the north part of East Arlington and a sports equipment store in the south.
The average temperature in the greater Jacksonville area ranges from about 65 degrees Fahrenheit in winter to approximately 90 degrees in summer. The area receives a lot of precipitation, but East Arlington is still a great place to enjoy the outdoors by going for a jog around the neighborhood or visiting one of the many ponds.
East Arlington is home to both public and private schools.
