Make East New York your home.

East New York is located on east side of Brooklyn. Public transportation is well-covered in this area as residents have access to multiple subway and bus lines. Belt Parkway runs through the southern edge of the neighborhood. East New York also borders Jamaica Bay.

The area is home to East New York Farms!, a project of the United Community Centers that is dedicated to promoting the consumption of locally grown, sustainable food. They host farmers markets, provide educational and internship opportunities, and help residents start urban gardens.

Gateway National Park begins within the neighborhood's borders and extends out into the bay. The park is comprised of many features, including the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, Jacob Riis Park, Frank Charles Park, Hamilton Beach, Fort Wadsworth and more. Residents can join one of the many educational programs the park offers or explore the area.

The Gateway shopping center is located on the eastern edge of the neighborhood. This is where many locals go to run errands or spend some extra cash. The restaurants are diverse, with choices spanning from authentic Latin to Asian cuisine and everything in between, all at a great price.

Locals love the historic buildings in East New York, as well as the vast number of schools and medical facilities.
