Carmel Valley is a neighborhood in northern San Diego. Major roads in the area include Highway 5 (aka San Diego Freeway) and the Ted Williams Freeway. Neighborhood residents rely on their vehicles to travel throughout the city, as public transportation isn't as numerous as it is in other areas. 

Carmel Valley residents enjoy the neighborhood both indoors and outdoors. The average high temperatures in San Diego fluctuate between 65 degrees Fahrenheit in winter and about 77 degrees in summer. Take advantage of the year-round warmth by hitting the SR 56 Bike Trail, which winds through the center of the neighborhood. Outlook Park is located in the northern section of the neighborhood and it provides plenty of green space in which to find outdoor activities.

Shopping in Carmel Valley is a unique experience as most of the stores are independently owned boutiques. You'll find clothing, beauty products and more when shopping in the neighborhood. After a day of picking out clothes, rest and recharge at one of Carmel Valley's restaurants. You'll find seafood, ethnic and American cuisine. 

Carmel Valley is a popular neighborhood for families, but it also draws a young crowd. There are a few bars and clubs that keep the party going all night.
