Central Chula Vista is a neighborhood on the far southeast side of San Diego. Major roads in the area include the San Diego Freeway (aka Interstate 5), South Bay Freeway and Interstate 805. Neighborhood residents can travel around the city via car or train. Driving to downtown San Diego from Central Chula Vista takes about 15 minutes.
You'll find plenty of shopping opportunities in the neighborhood as there are several malls. Head to the Chula Vista Center or Country Club Shopping Center to find the clothing, jewelry, home goods and more that you need.
Central Chula Vista is home to a few parks, including Friendship Park, Norman Park and Memorial Park. The average high temperatures in San Diego fluctuate between about 65 degrees Fahrenheit in winter and approximately 75 degrees in summer. The mild weather is great for outdoor activities. Parkway Recreation Complex is located in Memorial Park, which is a public fitness center run by the neighborhood of Central Chula Vista.
There are several restaurants in Central Chula Vista, including Olive Garden and BJs Brewhouse.
The neighborhood is home to both public and private schools. Vista Square Elementary School is in the north part of Central Chula Vista, the Royal Academy is in the center, Mueller Charter School is in the west, and Chula Vista High School and Chula Vista Learning Community Charter School are both in the south.
