San Pablo is a neighborhood 30 minutes northeast of San Francisco, in Contra Costa County, California. The city of Richmond surrounds nearly the whole community of San Pablo. Interstate 80 is the major roadway in the area and it flanks the eastern edge of the neighborhood.
San Pablo is located between the northern end of the Berkeley Hills and San Pablo Bay. Two creeks run through the area: Wildcat Creek and San Pablo Creek, both of which originate in the mountain ranges southeast of the community.
Residents have access to buses that carry them to Hilltop Mall Shopping Center, Richmond Parkway Transit Center and the Amtrak train station in Richmond.
San Pablo is the home of the western campus of the Contra Costa Community College District. This school is part of the California community colleges system.
The neighborhood offers residents tons of activities including Fourth of July fireworks displays, Easter egg hunts, movies in the park and holiday tree-lighting ceremonies. The San Pablo Art Gallery features local artists and group exhibitions on a monthly basis. There are also several parks in the neighborhood including Wanlass Park and Davis Park and El Portal Sports Fields.
