Columbia Point is a south Boston neighborhood that begins at the Mass Avenue Connector and continues along Southeast Expressway 93 and Massachusetts Avenue. Columbia Point expands southward until it reaches the Dorchester Bay Basin. Columbia Point has an eastern boundary at Old Harbor and includes the peninsula that houses University of Massachusetts Boston, making it a perfect neighborhood for students and members of academia.
Columbia Point is a short, 15-minute commute to downtown Boston by car or 20 minutes by public transit. UMass Boston takes up a larger portion of this neighborhood and holds both a beautiful campus and many community amenities. UMass HarborWalk Park provides a lengthy uninterrupted stretch of trails next to the harbor and scenic views of the surrounding islands and public sculptures. The HarborWalk is a great place for joggers and bicyclists to work out while enjoying fantastic and historic scenery. UMass is also home to John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, a seaside tribute to our nation's 35th president.
The southern end of Columbia Point offers several public parks, a yacht club and boat park.
