Converse is a neighborhood on the northeast side of San Antonio. Major roads in the area include the Charles W. Anderson Loop and Gibbs Sprawl Road. Residents can travel to the city center via train, bus or car. Getting to the downtown area is a short car ride at about 20 minutes.

Converse Park sits on the southwest edge of the neighborhood and features a pond, baseball diamonds and football fields. Head there for a nice jog or a ball game with friends. The average high temperatures in San Antonio fluctuate from about 65 degrees Fahrenheit in winter to approximately 95 in summer.

Converse Park is home to several bars, restaurants and cafes. For example, you may choose to eat dinner out at a restaurant that features Mexican, American or Chinese cuisine.

Night in Ole Converse is an annual community event that takes place the first weekend of October. The tradition began in 1974 as a fundraiser for the parks and recreation commission. Night in Ole Converse features a carnival, live music, a parade, a market place with vendors and more.

There are elementary and high schools both in Converse Park and nearby, making the neighborhood a great place to start a family.
