East Forest is a residential neighborhood in the southeast region of Charlotte, North Carolina. The neighborhood runs along the west side of the Andrew Jackson Highway with a northern boundary at Sharon Amity Road and a southern boundary at Crown Point Plaza. Other major motorways include Monroe Road and Sardis Road North. East Forest is approximately 9 miles from downtown Charlotte, averaging a 20-minute commute by car. Public bus transportation is also available.

East Forest has a wide array of local amenities. The expansive Galleria Shopping Center is located on the south end of the neighborhood. In proximity to the shopping center there is a movie theater, Walmart, Party City, several fitness clubs and numerous eateries. This part of the neighborhood also holds a swim school and an indoor rock climbing center. The north end of the neighborhood has grocery stores and restaurants, and is home to the Independence Square Shopping Center. 

East Forest also boasts three large outdoor recreation areas: Sharon Memorial Park, McAlpine Creek Park and Mason Wallace Park. McAlpine Creek Park boasts a fishing pier, horseshoe pits, five soccer fields, a recycling center, hiking trails and a 3-acre lake. Mason Wallace Park provides athletic fields, basketball courts and tennis courts. Sharon Park is an extensive cemetery and memorial home.
