Sustainable Flatbush is a collaborative effort to enhance the sustainability in the community through projects. This group works toward creating energy solutions, growing urban gardens and farms, eliminating waste and establishing livable streets. Flatbush Farm is a local bar and restaurant that also promotes sustainability. It sources its organic food from local farms. 

Flatbush envelops the southern edge of Prospect Park, including the parade grounds, which are mainly used for youth sports fields. Residents who love the outdoors will enjoy this area. If you leave Flatbush to explore more of the park, you'll find the Lefferts Historic House, the Prospect Park Zoo, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and the Brooklyn Museum nearby.
