Highland Meadows is a neighborhood on the northeast side of Dallas. Major roads in the area include the Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway, Garland Road and East Northwest Highway. Neighborhood residents can travel throughout the city via car or bus. A train line runs along the northern border of Highland Meadows.
Creeks and ponds dot the area, and many homes and apartment complexes have a view of these waterways. McCree Park sits on the western edge of the neighborhood and B.B. Owens Park is in the north. Enjoy the outdoors and Dallas weather by hiking along the creek or walking in the park.
Highland Meadows is home to several schools, including the Bethel Early Learning Center, Greater North Dallas High School, Highland Meadows Elementary School and Highlander High School.
This quiet neighborhood has the feel of a suburban community with the amenities of the big city. White Rock Lake Park is a short 15-minute drive from Highland Meadows. The Dallas Arboretum is also near the lake. Driving into the city center only takes about 25 minutes by car.
You don't have to leave the neighborhood to find a place to eat. The southern corners of Highland Meadows have restaurants, and grocery and department stores.
