Imperial Beach is a California town south of San Diego and right on the shore of the Pacific Ocean. The southernmost tip of Imperial Beach is on the Mexico-U.S. border. Major nearby roads include Palm Avenue, Imperial Beach Boulevard and Seacoast Drive. Residents can travel throughout the neighborhood via bus or car.

The southern half of Imperial Beach is composed of the NOLF Imperial Beach Airport, Tijuana River and Border Field State Park. The park is a great location to enjoy ocean views and the warm southern California weather, as it has green space, picnic benches and horse corals. Though California Parks and Recreation does not recommend swimming at Border Field State Park, you'll find plenty of swimming spots elsewhere in Imperial Beach. For example, Imperial Beach Pier is farther north in the neighborhood and features swimming, grass areas and picnic tables.

The area is home to plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes, most of which sit in the northern section of Imperial Beach. If you take a drive along Palm Avenue, you'll find shops and grocery stores along with dining establishments.

Imperial Beach boasts several schools, including Bayside Elementary School, West View Elementary School, Imperial Beach Elementary School, Mar Vista High School and the School for Integrated Academics and Technologies's San Diego Campus.
