McCormick Ranch is the first master-planned community built in the area just 25 minutes northeast of Phoenix. The major roadway that services the neighborhood is Route 101. Most local residents commute by car for work or pleasure.
The community that is known today as McCormick Ranch was a working ranch and horse farm from 1942 until 1972. The McCormick family loved horses and wanted to maintain the wide open spaces. In the mid-1950s, they devoted 150 acres of the northern part of the ranch as an equestrian center and called it Paradise Park.
McCormick Ranch has no shortage of amenities. Residents living in the area have access to a retail shops, two championship 18-hole golf courses, more than 25 miles of paths for biking and hiking, as well as parks, tennis course and seven man-made lakes for all kinds of outdoor recreation.
Golf is a major attraction in this neighborhood because it is so close to Scottsdale's pristine and expansive courses. Public and private greens are scattered across the area – which is heaven for golf lovers!
Students in McCormick Ranch can attend one of two elementary schools. Two middle schools and two high schools are also located in the neighborhood.
Bars and pubs are located along Route 101 and off East Via De Ventura road for hungry residents. Sandwich eateries and ethnic options like Thai and French cuisine, as well as sushi are also nearby.
