Montclaire South is a residential neighborhood located approximately 8 miles southwest of downtown Charlotte, North Carolina. The neighborhood expands southward from the city beginning at the intersection of the General Paul R. Younts Expressway and Billy Graham Expressway. The area's southern boundary is defined by Ramblewood Park, a large recreational green space. Other major nearby motorways include Nations Ford Road, South Boulevard, Arrowhead Road and Interstate 485. 

Montclaire South is home to a wide array of businesses and amenities. The neighborhood holds grocery stores, thrift shops and eateries. Archdale Park, a recreational green space with a multi-purpose field, picnic shelter, basketball court and playground, also rests in Montclaire South. Ramblewood Park, located on the south end of the neighborhood, has soccer fields, baseball diamonds and hiking trails. Montclaire South is also home to the Charlotte Gymnastics Academy.

The area surrounding Montclaire South holds several more parks, two shopping centers, four golf clubs and a movie theater. Renaissance Park Golf Course is open to the public, providing a close home course for any avid golfer living in the area. The nearby course at Quail Hollow Country Club annually hosts the PGA Wells-Fargo Cup.
