Near Southeast is a neighborhood that abuts the downtown district of Indianapolis. Major roads in the area include Interstate 65, Interstate 70, Prospect Street, South Keystone Avenue, Southeastern Avenue and East Washington Street. Neighborhood residents travel throughout the city via car, bus or train. 

This large neighborhood is full of things to do both indoors and outdoors. Those who enjoy spending time in the sun should visit Pleasant Run Trail, which follows the White River. Both go through Near Southeast and one section of the river even passes by Christian Park. This large green space is full of walkways for bikers, hikers and dog walkers. The southern section of the park also has a family center.

Sarah Shank Golf Course is on the south side of Near Southeast and it's the perfect place for residents to play golf. If you don't have the time for all 18 holes, practice your swing by taking a lesson at the course.

You'll find shops, restaurants, cafes and bars scattered throughout Near Southeast. Washington Street is especially crowded with eateries and watering holes. 

Depending on where in the neighborhood they live, residents can send their children to one of the many local schools. Baptist Academy is located in the south part of Near Southeast and the Indianapolis Lighthouse Charter School is in the east part of the neighborhood.
