Sun City Anthem is a community on the north edge of Phoenix. Interstate 17 is the major roadway in the area, which bisects the neighborhood and connects commuters to the city center. Residents of Sun City Anthem are only 30 minutes from downtown Phoenix.

Del Webb developed Sun City Anthem as a community for families at the base of Daisy Mountain and Gavilan Peak. Roughly 36 percent of the community is preserved as open space, including 291 acres of open hillside. Daisy Mountain offers locals plenty of space to engage in photography, bird watching, bicycling, hiking, horseback riding and other recreational activities. Sun City Anthem has been described as one of the best places to raise a family by "Parenting" magazine, and one of the best family-friendly neighborhoods in the Phoenix area by "Phoenix Magazine."

The neighborhood boasts several elementary schools, including Anthem Elementary School and Canyon Creek Elementary School. The nearest colleges and universities are Glendale Community College, Paradise Valley Community College and Arizona State University's West campus.

Sun City Anthem has an active social community. Residents participate in annual events like Anthem Days, which is a free event featuring a business expo, live music, food vendors and activities for children. Autumnfest is another celebration held in the fall featuring a pumpkin patch, craft vendors, carnival rides and live music. In the spring, Sun City Anthem enjoys Music in May, when the Anthem Community Park Amphitheater features a variety of musical shows.
