Bike the trails in Beechmont

The Beechmont neighborhood is located on the southern end of Louisville. Its north border is formed by Interstate 264, which makes a loop around the downtown district. The east border is created by a train line that takes riders downtown.

This mostly residential neighborhood is great for its proximity to Iroquois Park. As one of the oldest parks in the city, this spot has a lot of great features. Spend the day honing your skills on the archery range or hit one of the park's many biking and hiking trails. The trails snake up a hill, leading residents to a great view of the city. The Kentucky Derby Festival annual marathon sends 10,000 runners through the park every year. The Iroquois Park Amphitheatre hosts musical theater performances and concert events.

Weather in Louisville tends to fluctuate with the seasons. Summer highs reach into the 90s and winter lows go below 30 degrees Fahrenheit. Fortunately, residents of Beechmont keep themselves active. For indoor fitness, check out the Beechmont Community Center. With classes and sports leagues, the center offers plenty of community involvement to residents.

Head to Annie's Cafe, a local favorite serving Vietnamese cuisine. It has been given top ratings and is listed as one of the best, most authentic Vietnamese restaurants in the city.
