Downtown San Jose is a neighborhood in the heart of San Jose, Calif. Major roads bordering the area include the Sinclair, Guadalupe, Nimitz and Bayshore freeways. Neighborhood residents can travel throughout the city via car, Caltrain or bus.
There's lots to do in Downtown San Jose, and if you like the outdoors, you should consider visiting a park. Watson Park features a few sports fields where local athletes play soccer and basketball. Backesto and Raymond Bernal Jr. Memorial parks are great spots to bring your dog, have a picnic or go for a jog. Many of the roads in the area also feature bike lanes so cyclists can get through town with ease.
Downtown San Jose is home to the Children's Discovery Museum, the Tech Museum of Innovation, the San Jose Museum of Art and the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles. After a day at a museum, you can see a play at one of the many local theaters.
The neighborhood is full of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. However, you don't have to sit inside a cafe to get Internet access, as much of Downtown San Jose has a free Wi-Fi network.
The area features headquarters of a few major tech companies, including Hewlett-Packard, Cisco Systems and Adobe Systems. These companies employ many of the people living in and around San Jose.
