Garden City is an Indianapolis Neighborhood.

Garden City is a neighborhood on the near west side of Indianapolis. Major roads in the area include Rockville Road, Washington Street and USS Indianapolis Memorial Freeway. Neighborhood residents can travel throughout the city via car, bus or train. Driving to the city center only takes about 10 minutes.

The White River forms part of Garden City's border. Walk or hike the trail that runs alongside it. You can also enjoy the outdoors in the area by playing a game of golf at Thatcher Golf Course. Along with it's 18-hole course, Thatcher offers classes for children and adults. A.J. Thatcher Park is right across the street from Thatcher Golf Course. It's filled with trees, green space, a playground and a softball complex. 

Garden City has the feel of a suburban community with the benefits of being in a big city. You can ride the train downtown for a day of shopping and museum trips, or stay in your neighborhood and enjoy its amenities. Garden City has grocery stores, shops, restaurants, ponds and parks. The 8 Seconds Saloon is a popular night spot that features live music.
