Midway is a neighborhood in Escondido, Calif., which is approximately 30 miles northeast of San Diego. The neighborhood is also about 20 miles west of the Pacific Coast. Major roads in the area include Roland Packard Parkway, Avocado Highway, San Pasqual Valley Road and East Grand Avenue. Neighborhood residents can travel throughout Escondido via car or bus.
Escondido Hills Plaza is full of shopping and dinning opportunities and is home to the East Valley Branch of the Escondido Library. The Lucky Shopping Center also in the area, right across the street from Escondido Hills Plaza, and it boasts supermarkets, discount shops and restaurants.
Escondido Creek cuts through the center of Midway and a hiking and biking trail runs alongside it. You can enjoy the warm Southern California weather by taking a walk or going on a jog along the creek. Washington Park is another great outdoor spot that features plenty of lawn space and a public pool.
Midway is a nice neighborhood in which to start a family because of its many schools. Children can attend Rose Elementary School, Pioneer Elementary School, Conway Elementary School, Glen View Elementary School, Oak Hill Elementary School, Christian Life Academy and Orange Glen High School.
