Parkside is a neighborhood located in the southwest section of San Francisco. Major roadways in the area include Quintara Street to the north, Sloat Street to the south and 36th Avenue/Sunset Boulevard to the west.
The neighborhood is mostly residential, except for the commercial corridor on Taraval Street. Residents utilize the L Taraval train, which is a part of the Muni Metro to commute into downtown San Francisco for work or pleasure.
Parkside holds the unique distinction of having more parks per capita than any other neighborhood in San Francisco. These parks include Parkside Square, Pine Lake Park, Concert Meadow, Carl Larsen Park, Sigmund Stern Grove and McCoppin Park. Residents can enjoy free outdoor music concerts at some of these open spaces.
This neighborhood is the home of Dianne Feinstein Elementary School at the Parkside Campus. Parkside Library, a branch of the San Francisco Public Library, is also located in the area. Residents can also take advantage of classes there, such as Intro to Urban Bicycling and Preschool Storytime.
A wide range of restaurants offer cuisine from sushi to pizza. There are also numerous workout studios catering to yoga and Pilates enthusiasts.
