Wallingford is a residential neighborhood in northern Seattle located between Interstate 5 and Stone Way N Road. Wallingford extends southward to Lake Union. The Wallingford shoreline houses Gas Works Park, a converted gas and coal plant. Gas Works Park spans 20 acres and is a great place for flying kites and looking out over the Seattle skyline. It is a historic landmark complete with picnic shelters and running paths. At Wallingford's northern boundary, the neighborhood abuts the southeast edge of Woodland Park. 

Woodland Park includes a renowned zoo with a menagerie of animals including hippos, elephants, zebras and flamingos. Woodland Park Zoo also has several gardens and a historic carousel. Green Lake is directly north of Wallingford and has several parks and a scenic running trail around the water. Wallingford is also next door to Fremont, a neighborhood with a wide selection of breweries and eateries. 

Wallingford is a short commute from downtown Seattle,and also offers access to the Queen Anne and Magnolia neighborhoods via Aurora Avenue N. Furthermore, the University of Washington is dead east of the neighborhood, giving Wallingford a versatile centralized location.
