Learn more about Prospect Hill

The Prospect Hill neighborhood is on the west side of downtown San Antonio next to Market Square, also known as El Mercado, a historic public market with food, shopping and musical entertainment. Prospect Hill begins at N Comal Street and extends westward in a narrow strip of land between W Martin Street and W Commerce Street, eventually expanding south along S Zarzamora Street and north along Alazan Creek. Major roads close by include the McDermott Freeway, Cleto Rodriguez Freeway and S PanAm Expressway. This neighborhood is a short distance from the heart of San Antonio, making downtown easily accessible by bus or bicycle.

Prospect Hill is home to Our Lady of the Lake University as well as the Christian Academy of San Antonio. Elmendorf Park is Prospect Hill's largest park, providing running trails, a seasonal swimming pool, athletic fields and a lake perfect for fishing. Furthermore, this neighborhood is surrounded by creeks with walking trails along the shorelines.

The Prospect Hill neighborhood has a strong historical sense of Mexican heritage and has numerous cultural amenities, including Mujer Artes, a pottery cooperative, and Guadalupe Cultural Arts Theater.
