The Albany Park neighborhood is located on Chicago's northwest side. The brown line of the L system runs through the area, giving residents easy access to the downtown district known as The Loop. Drivers can take the Edens Expressway from Albany Park into the city as well. The northern border of the neighborhood is defined by the North Branch of the Chicago River. 

Albany Park has a reputation as a diverse area, which is exemplified by its proximity to several cultural centers. Head west and you'll encounter the Irish American Heritage Center, which offers classes, hosts concerts and events, and manages clubs. The biggest occasion of the year is the St. Patrick's Day Festival. The family festival features dancers, food, music and more. Head east and you'll find the Swedish American Historical Society. This nonprofit organization records and studies the history of Swedish heritage in America. It also hosts events and programs for the public.
