Portage Park is a neighborhood on the northwest side of Chicago. The major streets in the area include Cicero Avenue, Irving Park Road and Central Avenue. The Kennedy Expressway and several train lines are just outside the area's boundaries. 

Portage Park is an older neighborhood with a historically strong Polish community. Recently, more Hispanic families have been moving in as well, creating a diverse community.

Six Corners is a shopping center in Portage Park that has been around for generations. It has big name stores, such as Sears, as well as independently owned shops. Residents of Portage Park utilize Six Corners as their primary stop for purchasing goods. Not only will you find stores in Six Corners, but you can also find clinics and doctors offices, including a physical therapist and dentist. The Fruit Market is a great storefront to do your grocery shopping and Las Tablas has delicious food.

The Portage Theater is an architectural landmark that was completed in 1920. The theater hosts independent films as well as local musicians. You can also rent the 2,000-seat space for community events or office gatherings. 

The park the area is named after is located at the center of the neighborhood. Portage Park is the place for locals to get outside, walk their dogs or enjoy nice weather.
